Description

We are looking for applications from highly experienced Ecology professional with substantial ecological consultancy experience to take on technical leadership and help develop and shape our team of excellent ecologists. You will have a proven track record in consultancy, with proven business development, client and project management and technical experience and work closely with the Board of Directors and Associate Director of Operations in expanding our Ecology portfolio and driving forward continued growth and quality.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive ecological consultancy background
  • Full membership of CIEEM (Chartered Ecologist preferable)
  • Experience in producing high-quality technical reports, including EPS licence applications, Preliminary Ecological Assessment, Ecological Impact Assessment, Ecological chapters of Environmental Statement, Habitat Regulations Assessments, Mitigation strategies and Management Plans
  • Have a clear, up to date understanding of Biodiversity Net Gain, Biodiversity Impact Assessment, UKHABS survey methodology and the DEFRA metric calculators
  • Experience in reviewing technical reports, providing support and clear constructive feedback, promoting professional development of the team
  • Experience managing teams of consultants, giving guidance and feedback, ensuring projects are delivered within time and budget requirements.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant aspects of UK and EU environmental Legislation and national and local planning policies and processes

You will:

  • Be the first point of contact – provision of high-quality, expert advice to clients and stakeholders and work closely with the team in providing sound and relevant technical advice
  • Lead on extensive engagement, communicating effectively with clients, customers and environmental regulators.
  • Be a conduit between the Directors and the team, helping us set the strategic direction of the team and instilling the core values of the company.
  • Support the growth, development and resilience of the team through enthusiastic line management & leadership
  • Support individual’s personal development working closely with the senior team monitoring progress against targets and the CIEEM competency framework
  • Develop networks across disciplines and promote the services of the wider business – working collaboratively to create effective solutions.
  • Contribute to the identification, bidding for and winning of work – working with the Directors and Operations team.
