An excellent opportunity to join a well-established ecological consultancy as we enter the next stage of our expansion for 2022.

Based in North-West England but working across the UK, we pride ourselves on offering a highly commercial, personable and professional service to a wide-ranging client base across the residential, commercial and transport sectors.

Our friendly and dedicated team possesses a wide range of skill sets and would eagerly welcome and support the right candidate.

You will be based in our new offices in Manchester City Centre which open in August 2022, and we offer 50/50 hybrid working.

The successful candidates will:

  • Have proven skills in Extended Phase 1 Habitat Survey/PEA, protected species assessments and experience of some or a range of protected species surveys (such as bats, Great Crested Newt, Badger, reptiles and birds).
  • Be able to write professional, clear reports and produce the impact assessment of the development on any ecological constraints.
  • Have the ability to meet deadlines, organise workload and manage large projects, with a team of ecologists and graduate ecologists.
  • Design suitable mitigation for protected species.
  • Hold a Class 2 survey licence for bats.
  • Be a registered consultant for bat mitigation licences (preferable at Senior level, mandatory at Associate).
  • Have the confidence to liaise with clients efficiently.
  • Have a full UK driving licence, use of a car and be willing to travel and stay away from home fairly regularly.
  • Be commercially minded.

Advantageous, but not essential:

  • Educated to degree level.
  • Hold other protected species licences.
  • Be a registered consultant for Low Impact Class (Bat) Licences.

Salary: £30k – £40k per year, dependent on experience
