·         Experience in managing and overseeing medium/large projects from commencement to completion and close-out

·         Minimum 4 years’ experience in a consultancy environment

·         Understand standard mitigation practices associated with reptiles, GCN, badgers, bats & dormice

·         Experience of producing concise ecological reports that are compliant with relevant legislation and meet the needs of the client, both in terms of satisfaction and client deadlines

·          Experience of undertaking Ecological Impact Assessments and Environmental Impact Assessments

·         Excellent working knowledge of protected species and invasive species (flora and fauna) as well as habitats as identified in planning policy and EU / UK legislation.

·         Working knowledge of EU / UK wildlife legislation and Planning Policy

·         Experience in undertaking a wide range of ecological surveys including extended Phase 1 Habitat Surveys and more specialist work such as protected species surveys and mitigation. This will involve ensuring that work is delivered on time and is delivered to the client’s satisfaction.

·         Proven track record of obtaining Natural England mitigation licences

·         Preferably hold at least one Natural England survey licence

·         Experience of supporting and driving sales activities and taking a lead in drafting proposals, tenders and quotes and building client relationships by taking ownership of own projects

·         Be self-motivated, exhibiting a proactive approach, developing client relationships where required

·         Full or Associate Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management

·         Commercially astute

·         Proven track record of retaining and winning new clients/ work

·         Protected species survey design and implementation (flora and fauna) to best practice guidelines

·         Ability to mentor and train junior members of staff

·         Able to critically review others work to ensure quality and accuracy of technical information

·         Full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle
