Senior Development Engineer, Singapore

My client is a global manufacturer and developer of high efficiency crystalline silicon photovoltaic (PV) cells and modules. My client operates on an international scale throughout Europe and America and Asia in which they have seen much success in PV cell and module production. They are currently looking for a senior development engineer to be based in Singapore.

Position Overview:

My client is looking for an experienced development engineer with expertise and experience in the development of cell and module technology. This is an exceptional opportunity to take a senior role within an already established global organisation who are looking to develop on their already existing sizable market share. They are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to be actively involved in the development and advancement of their product lines and who is passionate about the advancement of such technology.

Responsibilities:

• Use progressive manufacturing photovoltaic processes to advance the efficiency of products
• Assess and quantify failure modes in modules due to cell technology
• Minimise loss mechanisms in modules due to changes in cell technology by conducting device module modifications.
• Draw reliable conclusions from project data.
• Work as part of an internal team and at times collaborate with external solar organisations.
• Enhance and develop new and existing module qualification guidelines.
• Would be reporting to the Director of Module Technology regularly

Education:

• A successful candidate will be educated to MSc or PhD level in materials science, chemical engineering or physics.

Core Requirements:

• Must have 3-5years experience in the research and development
• Have practical, hands on experience in solar cell and module technology development
• Will have an understanding of the physics of operation of photovoltaic silicon solar cells and a working knowledge of the technology used to produce them

General Requirements

• Be willing to work out of Singapore
• Be relied upon to  work as part of a team and take the lead when necessary
