New opportunities for Senior Controls Engineers to join Ameresco’s highly experienced and talented Renewable Energy Engineering Team developing and supporting projects throughout the United States. These positions will support control system design, development, and commissioning for new plants and troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades for operating facilities. Positions will be based in the Eastern US.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with Engineering staff to develop renewable projects (LFGTE) throughout North America.
Review electrical design drawings and documents issued by Project Engineer of Record to ensure consistency with Ameresco design standards and vendor documentation.
Partner with Ameresco Construction Management and site electrical contractors to ensure consistency with plant design and specification documents.
Develop control strategies and Plant Operator interface for new facilities.
Manage relationships with control panel fabrication contractors.
Perform loop checks, test, and commission new plant controls.
Train Plant Operations staff on plant control system.
Document new plant as-built control systems architecture.
Support Operations group with instrumentation and control systems troubleshooting.
Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, regulatory and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes.
Cultivate and maintain positive business relationships.
Perform other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering plus minimum 7 years’ industrial controls construction and startup experience.
Experience developing process control sequences and programming for real-time environments - Allen Bradley PLC programming
Experience configuring and maintaining Microsoft operating systems (Server, XP) and Ethernet-based networks.
Knowledge of industrial instrumentation and AutoCAD 2D experience preferred.
Experience with Power generation equipment preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and complete assignments
Excellent organization skills including ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
Excellent verbal, written, computer communication and technical presentation skills.
Valid Driver’s License in good standing, issued by resident state required.
U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
May require flexibility for ‘on call’ support or varied schedule needs
May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
Travel required.
