You should possess following experience and skills:
- 7 to 10 years of experience in energy or environmental consulting or related work with NGO’s or think tanks in a consulting role
- Masters level qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject area (science and engineering, environment)
- Native Mandarin, fluency in English
- Proven track record of securing project work for international / multilateral donor organizations such as Asian Development Bank, World Bank/IFC, European Union.
- A broad network of contacts in international donor organizations, government agencies, research institutes, academia and industry.
- High level project management experience including management of high value and long term contracts, delivered on time and on budget
- Experience working with national or local government departments in China and managing their expectations
- Excellent proposal and report writing skills (in Chinese and English) and ability to tailor content for specific audiences
- Advanced computer literacy including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent quantitative skills.
In addition, experience in at least 3 of the following areas will be necessary:
- Emissions measurement and reduction methodologies
- Energy and emissions reduction strategies
- Organizational carbon footprint assessment
- Product lifecycle carbon footprint assessment
- Research, data collection, data analysis, energy modeling, proposing solutions and optimization of existing energy systems
- Securing work from public, private and third sector organizations through successful public sector tendering and grant applications
- Up-to-date knowledge of funding opportunities for local authorities, businesses, schools and community groups
- Detailed knowledge of relevant Chinese regulations in terms of energy policy, emission reduction targets and sustainability. Knowledge of the regulatory environment in other Asian countries will be considered a plus.
