(Senior) Consultant International Climate Policies

The position

 Ecofys  has extensive  experience in political consulting, energy efficiency and climate politics and delivers strategic consultancy. The international Policy Design and Evaluation unit supports public and private players in the development, analysis and evaluation of energy political instruments and strategies. Innovative and workable legislation is key to an effective and cost-effective advancement of energy efficiency.

The International Climate Policies unit delivers strategic consultancy on all aspects of climate policy to Government, NGO and corporate clients. To grow our business further in the international domain, we are looking for a (senior) consultant with experience in international climate policy and in policy evaluation. Your main tasks will include the execution of consultancy and applied research projects on international climate policy topics. This may require international travel depending on the projects you work on. You will participate in proposal preparation for public and private tenders and continuously develop our business in the area of international climate policies. This include thematic areas of:

• Development planning for climate mitigation, adaption and green growth
• Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs)
• Climate policy evaluation and tracking
• Climate finance and New Market Mechanisms
• Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV)
• Climate negotiation advisory, advocacy and capacity building

Your Profile

If you are enthusiastic about the job described above and you meet the following criteria, then we would be happy to meet you! 

• University education (preferably policy analysis/natural sciences/economics) and 4 to 7 years of relevant      professional  experience,  preferably in consultancy
• Excellent oral and written command of English and French (native level), knowledge in another language are beneficial
• Strong content and market focus in the field of climate and energy policies
• A relevant track record in delivering climate policy projects
• Extensive project management, proposal writing and presentation skills
• Proven experience in negotiations with customers
• Strong analytical skills
• Very good team player
