Senior Consultant for International Climate Change Related Services

Vattenfall Power Consultant’s international projects include transmission and distribution, nuclear, hydro, thermal and renewable energy – from special targeted advice to large-scale assignments. We cover the energy sector in a broad sense – by offering advice on renewable energy (hydro, thermal, wind, solar), transmission (HVAC and HVDC), distribution (rural energy services), environmental and social impact assessments, market integration, system stability, economic and financial assessment, as well as greenhouse gas emission reduction projects and climate policy. 

The newly established Climate Department within Vattenfall Power Consultant’s International Business Unit is now looking for dedicated consultants to expand our climate change related services at a global level.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Consultant you will be:

• Responsible for expanding our overall business within climate change advisory services and greenhouse gas emission reduction projects in the field of the Kyoto Protocol’s flexible mechanisms, primarily the CDM (Clean Development Mechanism). 
• Managing on a regional basis origination of greenhouse gas emission reductions, including project identification, performing risk assessments and eligibility analyses, as well as being overall responsible for our services related to the full CDM cycle.
• Coordinating with our local project partners as well as relevant UNFCCC bodies.
• Developing climate change advisory services and partnerships at a local, regional and global level. This includes both services within the CDM as well as new types of services building on the position of the Vattenfall Group.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with at least 10 years of experience within the field of greenhouse gas emission reduction projects and with solid understanding of the global market for climate change related instruments and services.  We believe that you have experience of project design, implementation and management with a focus on clean energy technologies. The regional focus of your work depends on your previous experience, whereas the Middle East and Asia are of main importance. You need to be fluent in English and knowledge of another language (French, Chinese or Arabic) is an asset.

As a person you are customer oriented and a good relationship builder, able to effectively communicate with clients as well as lead junior consultants in your daily work.

Location
The position is located in Stockholm, Sweden. Travels are an integral part of the position. In time there is a possibility you will be stationed in the region for which you will be the regional manager.
