(Senior) Consultant Energy

Ecofys works on the vision of achieving “sustainable energy for everyone”. Within the company our Conventional Energy Systems team focusses on how the existing fossil-energy based system will be influenced by and play its role in the energy transition. Examples of such topics include the evolving business case for gas-fired power generation in the electricity system, the technical and economic potential for carbon capture and storage to reduce emissions in various applications and the value of the gas grid. We deliver clear analyses of these complex issues and work with our clients to implement change.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a (Senior) Consultant Energy with experience and a strong network in the field of oil and gas energy infrastructure, trade or thermal power generation and the desire to have a real impact in contributing to a sustainable energy system.

You will be responsible for the acquisition and successful delivery of analyses and strategies on the impact of the energy transition of the existing energy system for our corporate and public clients. Client communication, project management and presentation skills are essential for being successful in this growing business. You will be leading discussions and presentations with senior clients, and will actively nurture relationships with them. Moreover, throughout your assignments, you will guide junior team members.

Your profile

If you are enthusiastic about the job described above and you meet the following criteria, then we would be happy to meet you!

• University education preferably in the field of energy engineering or economics;
• 4 - 8 years of relevant professional experience;
• Proven network among both national and international players in the field of conventional energy infrastructure,      trade or thermal power generation;
• Understanding of key current and future issues facing these sectors;
• Affinity with sustainable energy and the transition to a low carbon energy future;
• Experience in working with clients, preferably in a consultancy setting, with a commercial focus and business skills to identify and develop opportunities in a competitive market;
• Flexible, fast learner with strong analytical skills and ambition to work on a wide range of topics;
• Ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity both in writing and verbally;
• Excellent English language skills. Proficiency in another language is beneficial, especially Dutch or German.
