3Keel’s  Circular Economy Practice Area  and Climate Change Practice Area use a wide range of different tools, techniques, skills and expertise to address the cross-cutting themes of Circular Economy, help our clients navigate the complex issues and plot the optimum way forward to bring about lasting change. To increase our capacity within this area, we are seeking a Senior Consultant with extensive experience of Life Cycle Assessment and carbon footprinting analyses to expand our Circular Economy practice area and to contribute to our growing team.

Circular Economy Practice Area

Within our Circular Economy practice area, LCA and footprinting are key tools used to help our clients make sustainable choices by provide the most appropriate information. 

 

With collaboration a key characteristic of circular economy thinking, it is no surprise that our work often overlaps with our other practice areas, and this role is anticipated to also operate within the Climate Change practice area, as required to support business needs. The role will support the ongoing expansion of the practice area, leading some projects, and acting as part of a delivery team on others, and the role will need to secure new work with commercial, NGO and government clients. 

 

The role

Successful candidates will have demonstrated expertise in Life Cycle Assessment, a sound understanding of all associated techniques and considerable experience in reviewing LCA models. In addition, you will have a desire and ability to scope and deliver wide-ranging projects to support clients wishing to progress their sustainability and circularity agendas. As trusted advisors, 3Keel are often in the position of co-developing work-plans with our clients to help them understand, articulate and fulfil their needs.

 

The role lends itself to hybrid/remote working, something 3Keel embraces as part of our progressive working culture, and of course, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, with the changes this has brought about. That said, some office presence in our Oxfordshire headquarters is to be expected.

 

This role is permanent, with the option for it to be full or part time depending on the candidate’s personal situation and in line with our goal to be an inclusive, flexible employer.  Please specify your requirements in your application.

 

Essential skills

  • At least 3 years of experience in LCA modelling, with a track record of completing and reviewing a wide range of LCAs, from rapid footprints to Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and LCAs for public disclosure.
  • Familiarity with LCA databases (e.g. Ecoinvent, etc.)
  • Good understanding of standards and guidelines pertaining to LCAs, Product Environmental Footprints and GHG accounting and reporting frameworks (e.g. GHG Protocol, SBTi, etc.)
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills, with a high level of proficiency in Excel modelling, using advanced formulae, for extensive data-sets
  • Rapid and accurate research, data analysis and distillation of complex topics
  • Excellent verbal communication and report writing skills, using a clear and engaging writing style, with a demonstrated ability to cut through the detail and present complex information in a client-friendly way
  • Organised and systematic approach to work, with experience in working on multiple projects at a time, and prioritising in order to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in project management
  • Adept at both supporting colleagues and team working
  • Self-starter and driven, with a determination to be part of expanding 3Keel's work, securing and delivering projects within 3Keel’s Circular Economy Practice Area. Current areas of coverage include:  Packaging sustainability, sustainable fashion, partnerships and collaborations, LCAs & footprinting
  • Managing existing relationships with clients effectively and professionally
  • Academic background to degree or master’s level in a relevant subject area.

 

Desirable skills

  • Line management experience
  • Experience of strategic business planning
  • Experience of data analytics and visualisation (e.g., PowerBi)
  • Knowledge of FMCG supply chains, food systems, packaging, textiles
  • Experience of planning and running effective multi-stakeholder workshops and meetings
  • Experience of managing client relationships 
  • Successful track record in business development
