The position
The carbon market strategies and industrial energy use (CMN) unit within Ecofys is active in strategic
consultancy in the field of the carbon market (EU ETS, international energy carbon markets) and industrial
energy and carbon policies. The unit is up-to-speed with the Greenhouse Gas Mitigation and energy
efficiency options available to industrial clients, but also with the key policy developments important for
business operations. The unit supports government clients in the design of effective industrial and carbon
market policies and strategically supports corporate clients to incorporate energy and carbon efficiency
into their daily business.
In the CMN unit, we operate at the interface between government and industrial corporate clients.
Government clients we serve with services such as the design and evaluation of policies related to the
carbon market and industrial energy efficiency. Building on this strategic advice to policy makers, we
serve industrial clients with elements of their energy and carbon policies such as carbon foot prints,
energy and carbon roadmaps, and greenhouse gas abatement potential studies.
To further grow our business, we are looking for an experienced senior consultant with proven knowledge
on carbon market and (industrial) energy use policies and proven skills as manager of larger consultancy
projects involving multiple clients and partners.
As senior consultant in this role, you will manage larger projects for both industrial and government
clients from start to end and also support other senior consultants, consultants and junior consultants in
their work with hands-on expertise on carbon market and (industrial) energy use policies, industrial
energy and carbon efficiency options and potentials.
In this position, you will have a sales target. You will be expected to generate these sales via leads coming
from your in-depth knowledge of the market and your existing network, but, as senior consultant, will also
acquire work by developing concrete acquisition ideas targeting new markets and clients with new and
innovative products and solutions.
Your profile

• University education (preferably natural sciences / engineering) and several years of professional
experience in the field of Carbon Market and (industrial) energy policies
• Preferably experience in both consultancy and business positions
• Entrepreneurial and commercial skills/experience in identifying and seizing opportunities
in a competitive market place
• Extensive project management, proposal writing and presentation skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent oral and written command of English
