Senior Conservation Manager, Threatened Species - 00002NTC

The Role:
The Senior Conservation Manager (Threatened Species) is responsible for providing the full range of services relating to the implementation and on-going management of threatened species (fish and marine vegetation) in accordance with relevant legislation and associated planning framework.

The Requirements:
Applicants are required to address the selection criteria as part of the online application process.
  • Degree in natural resource management, environmental science, planning or equivalent, and at least five years’ experience in natural resource management, planning or science or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated high-level knowledge and understanding of aquatic ecology, aquatic biodiversity conservation and associated natural resource management issues in NSW.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the legislative and policy frameworks for biodiversity conservation, threatened species management and impact assessment, including, but not limited to, the Fisheries Management and Environmental Planning and Assessment Acts and regulations .
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of legislation, natural resource management policy and/or strategic planning outcomes.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in supervising and managing a team.
  • Demonstrated experience in high-level conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated experience in organisational and project management including influential decision-making and problem solving.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
