The Senior Climate Change Manager (SCCM) will be an integral part of the partnership team. The incumbent works closely with the Partnerships Director and is expected to coordinate and mentor other members of the team. On occasion you will be expected to stand in for the Partnerships Director.

Your primary responsibility will be to maximize carbon reductions through a combination of managing and building upon existing partnerships and creating new ones. In addition, you are also expected to identify new opportunities for the organization to meet its mission of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

This includes engaging businesses and organizations to identify and promote their strategic interest in mitigating climate change, writing and editing proposals, writing and reviewing program agreements, developing marketing materials, writing blog entries, oversee partner launches, and more. Further you will be expected to calculate carbon footprints, develop messaging points and materials, conduct partner research and work with the team to support our relationships with current and prospective partners.

The position requires a team approach to solving problems and accomplishing tasks. You must be able to meet deadlines and be results oriented. An entrepreneurial attitude and comfort working in a fast paced environment are essential. You will be expected to support and contribute to the overall organization as they arise.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in the nonprofit, government, business, fundraising or environmental fields
  • Experience in building and nurturing relationships with external partners and collaborators
  • Experience and Knowledge in the energy and/or climate sector
  • Fluency in climate change issues
  • Excellent organizational, writing and editing skills
  • Excellent public speaking, and phone communication skills
  • Experience running or leading campaigns or initiatives a plus
  • MS Office req., Excel, Word
  • Experience with using databases a plus
  • A passion for the environment and solving our climate crisis
