change. We source, develop, manage and operate projects that reduce greenhouse gases. Our staff
have generated over 100 million CERs, and South Pole was the first company to bring Gold Standard
CERs to market.
South Pole is expanding rapidly and currently has offices in Zurich (head office), Bangkok, Beijing,
Hanoi, Istanbul, New Delhi, Johannesburg, Mexico City, and Taichung (Taiwan).
Due to successful growth, we are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated and dedicated:
Senior CDM Expert (based in Zurich)
Duties
• Leading the implementation effort for high-priority projects (pipeline of combined cycle power plant
projects). Develop key sections of PDDs like early consideration, common practise analysis and
additionality.
• Organizing and coordinating a global team to get high-priority projects registered as quickly as
possible
• Liaising with project owners, intermediaries and DOEs to ensure a productive and efficient work
relationship
• Providing expert input with a view to resolving problems during validation, registration and/or
verification
Qualifications & Experience
• Proven track record to navigate the UNFCCC approval procedures (VCS and Goldstandard a
bonus) and to get projects registered rapidly
• Ability to work independently and effectively, to prioritize tasks, pay attention to details and find
creative solutions
• Excellent intercultural, communication & negotiation skills, team player
• University degree in engineering, environmental science, management or related fields
• At least 5 years experience with developing CDM (VCS and Goldstandard a bonus) projects
• Strong technical skills and experience in the energy and industrial sectors (combined cycle power
plants, large scale hydro power stations, waste heat recovery projects etc.)
• Fluent English; other languages would be beneficial
• Willingness to travel internationally for several months per year
