Senior Alternative/Renewable Energy Consultant
Eastern U.S. About your role at Tetra Tech, Inc We are seeking a senior consultant to support the development of business in alternative energy. We expect this consultant to work with our current technical staff to support our existing backlog as well as develop new business. This person will identify and spearhead the development and implementation of alternative energy solutions (fuel, energy or heat) from biomass (e.g., food, agricultural and/or forestry residues or municipal, industrial or agricultural wastes), landfill, solar, wind, geothermal, or other sources. The candidate will be involved in resource assessment, due diligence, site planning and permitting, feasibility studies, innovative technology evaluation, project proposal evaluation, market assessments, strategic planning, policy evaluation, project management and economic analysis. This person should also be familiar with project financing and have experience working with energy and carbon consultants and financiers. The position also requires a proven track record of identifying new clients, managing client relationships, and developing specific work programs for these clients, including taking a lead role in project management of the work and supporting the development of client carbon management strategies. The candidate will utilize an in depth understanding of conventional approaches and innovative cost saving solutions to clients. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated entrepreneur with the following qualifications:

Our existing client base includes an interesting and broad mix of large Department of Defense (Navy, Army, and Air Force), public sector, and industrial (large Fortune 100 to small) clients across the US. It is preferred that this candidate be located Tetra Tech’s Pittsburgh office or a city of similar size in the eastern US. EXPERIENCE Requirements: Must have 7-10+ years consulting experience in a wide variety of areas ranging from team development and management, project and program management, professional environmental services, and business development. The successful candidate will have experience working with both private and public sector clients, with a strong track record of business development success in both sectors. Must have significant experience in the areas of alternative energy scoping, development and financing projects as well as related sustainability, air quality, environmental compliance, and process design. EDUCATION Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science or related field required; Masters Degree and/or Ph.D. is preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 HAZWOPER Training strongly desired. A PE, PG or related certification is strongly preferred.
