Description

Greenpeace is an independent campaigning organisation, which uses peaceful, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems, and develop solutions for a green and peaceful future.

THE TEAM

The Campaign team is responsible for fighting against the planet’s enemies. The primary goal of Greenpeace is to bring down the might of the fossil fuel order standing in the way of a sustainable future; this team’s job is to run campaigns that fulfil this goal. Whether it’s stopping a huge new dangerous coal mine, taking the fight of the Pacific to the world’s biggest stages, or pushing huge corporations to ditch coal, you’ll be working on campaigns we believe will make the world safer and more just.

THE ROLE

The Senior Campaigner will take the lead on our national campaign to ensure the fast and fair transition from fossil fuels to 100% clean, renewable power for Australia. In this role you will be responsible for project managing and delivering both long and short-term campaigns and projects as we develop our existing initiatives, and create exciting new opportunities.

You will also have the ability to use creativity and leadership to build dynamic, ambitious campaigns, and ensure successful coordination of all aspects of the campaigns that you lead on.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We’re looking for the best Campaign Strategist out there – someone who can help us win our campaigns, and motivate and lead our amazing Campaign team and crew of supporters. You’ll have great project coordination skills built through your previous experience leading national corporate campaigns, and the know-how to keep a large-scale campaign running effectively, as well as an excellent understanding of the energy sector and energy transition.

You’ll also have:

  • A proven track record of managing great teams;
  • Excellent project management capabilities;
  • A strong understanding of political power, and how policy can shape real world outcomes;
  • Demonstrable budgeting, risk assessment and reporting skills; and
  • The ability to build relationships and communicate effectively across a wide range of audience and formats, including the public and media.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • An incredible opportunity to take the lead on a big, long-term, national campaign;
  • The chance to engage and mobilise one of the largest NGO membership bases in Australia;
  • Access to an expert media and communications team, and our extensive research, investigation and creative capacity;
  • Access to our global network of campaigning expertise, and the opportunity to connect with our networks across the world;
  • A great work-life balance including 35 hour work week, health allowance and integrity framework; and
  • A culture that celebrates justice and belonging.

Salary $101,057.76 per annum + Superannuation
