SITA UK is looking to recruit Senior Bid Manager to join our successful Material Sourcing team based in our Northern Region which covers a geographical area from Yorkshire up to and including Scotland..

About the role
Reporting into the General Manager, the Senior Bid Manager’s primary role is to the preparation of the project tenders from pre-qualification through to contractual / financial close and assisting mobilisation. The Senior Bid Manager’s purpose is to develop detailed, robust and deliverable technical and commercial solutions for bids and to manage a multi-disciplined bid team (both internal and external) as well as develop relationships with new and existing public sector customers within the region.

The key responsibilities of the role include managing and leading the project team to ensure that projects are delivered on time, as well as organising the activities of the project team. The successful candidate would become the ‘face’ of a given bid externally with clients and internally with SITA UK.

Where required, the successful applicant will also support or lead other development projects to meet the needs of the region in delivering it’s business growth strategy.

Qualifications and experience
Working as part of a strong and experience team, the successful candidate must have excellent inter-personal, communication and leadership skills as well as knowledge of Local Authority workings, constraints and politics.

An understanding of UK waste legislation and market drivers is desirable but not essential and a driving licence is necessary as travel is a key element of the role.

Candidates will be required to be educated to a degree level or equivalent, ideally with CIWM membership and be able to demonstrate good IT skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc).
