Senior Associate or Director Energy Planning

We are currently looking to recruit for a number of positions within our Energy and Sustainability Group to work alongside our current team of consultants in our Reading office.

We are looking for candidates with leading experience in the areas of sustainability appraisals of land development projects, low carbon energy assessments, decentralised energy in the urban environment, renewable energy generation, energy masterplanning. 

This is a multifaceted role and will suit individuals who can lead a small team of professional engaged in a significant amount of work.  Primarily working in the land development sector our clients include house builders and commercial developers in addition to a number of blue chip corporations.

Key responsibilities / duties will include:

• Lead business development in field of sustainability development
• Mentor junior staff
• Responsibility for group profit management
• Act as a business leader for PBA at conferences
• Support wider staff member and clients in understanding energy and sustainability policy;
• Lead on managing energy and sustainability reporting standards;
• Assisting the wider environment team in cultivating, driving, implementing and supporting environmental and sustainability projects.

Capabilities and qualifications

The successful individual will require:

• Degree in relevant field or equivalent
• Proven experience of working in renewable energy or carbon management sectors
• Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
• Very strong understanding of current energy and sustainability issues facing businesses
• A passion for excellence and ambition to grow and develop a career within the energy and sustainability space
• The role will involve the communication of complex ideas throughout the organisation and to clients; the ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders is essential. Exceptional attention to detail and strong presentation skills are also required.
