This opportunity exists within a major environmental and engineering consultancy with over 850 staff and associates across a national network of offices. This is an excellent career opportunity to play a major role in its design capability consisting of over 30 professional staff in 5 of its 14 national offices. You will be part of the sustainable design team, based in London, specialising in environmentally aware design work and working in our design studio alongside other architects, urban designers, landscape architects and engineers, within a wider, multi-disciplinary environment consisting of environmental specialists and planners.
You will perform a leading role in advising clients and producing sustainable design solutions whilst also supporting our wider design, energy and EIA team in environmental strategy work. You will ideally have experience in all aspects of architecture including sustainable design solutions in detailed design and implementation work. Preferably you will also have some experience in urban design.
You will need expertise in some or all of the following disciplines;
- Low environmental impact/ building/ passive design;
- Renewable energy technology; 
- Sustainable construction materials selection;
- BREEAM/EcoHomes/CSH assessments.
Above all you will be able to demonstrate innovative thinking, drive and design flair and a successful track record in enhancing your clients' interests. A good team player, you will also be comfortable in establishing work priorities. With a degree in Architecture and post-graduate qualifications in environmental design, you will have an exemplary track record in design and delivery of sustainable architectural projects and experience of working with design teams or construction professionals. You will have an excellent command of written and spoken English; proficiency in AutoCad, CS3 and presentation software and be skilled in IES simulation software (microclimate analysis, thermal simulation, daylight analysis etc) or similar.
