GaiaTech is seeking a qualified Senior Air Quality Consultant with significant consulting and client management experience to assist in growing our air quality services business. 

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate must demonstrate significant experience in air permitting, emission calculations and modeling, and knowledge and implementation of existing and proposed regulations.  The candidate will be accountable for client management, staff mentoring, and execution of air projects from project setup through final invoicing, including client and agency communications.

  • Provide leadership in GaiaTech’s Air Services and Compliance groups to assist management in project execution and staff development.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take an active leadership role in the development of new business with new and existing clients. Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business.
  • Direct strategic air permits and compliance assurance programs for a variety of industrial clients with complex technical/regulatory issues.
  • Work closely with clients and develop strong relationships to understand specific processes and develop a permitting and compliance strategy to help clients maintain maximum operating flexibility.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource on air quality compliance assurance and permitting programs, including regulatory analyses of industrial facility operations; major and minor source air permit applications under NSR, PSD, Title V, and state-level regulations; and NESHAP MACT compliance programs.
  • Manage multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and junior staff.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with other GaiaTech employees.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level staff in the proper planning and execution of air quality projects, and in directing or conducting independent technical reviews of deliverable work products.

Qualifications

  • BS in engineering (chemical, mechanical, environmental) or related discipline; MS and PE preferred.
  • 10+ years of solid air quality consulting experience with a high degree of technical competence in the following:
    • minor, Federally Enforceable State Operating Permits (FESOP) and Title V permitting
    • Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) and non-attainment New Source Review (NSR) permitting
    • State air toxics rules
    • Reasonably Available Control Technology (RACT) requirements
    • Best Available Control Technology (BACT) and Lowest Achievable Emission Rate (LAER) reviews
    • National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) / Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) requirements
    • Annual Compliance Certifications/Semi-Annual Monitoring Reports
    • Greenhouse Gas inventories
    • Emissions abatement equipment
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful client relationships
  • Well established reputation and recognized technical expertise by the marketplace.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to build, coach, and mentor collaborative teams.
