Description

URS/Scott Wilson is a leading global engineering and environmental consultancy.

This position lies within URS/Scott Wilson Transport sector specifically within the small but specialised Drainage team located in Bedford. The team is supported by national Water Management resources and involves significant multi-disciplinary work with close liaison with teams in Environment and Natural Resources, Building and Infrastructure, and Transportation Sectors.

You will conduct flood risk assessments and water resource assessments using appropriate software.
You will construct, calibrate and analyse hydrological and hydraulic models of watercourses and floodplains for flood risk and water quality assessments.
You will manage some key projects, using strong financial and risk management abilities, and interface with clients, contractors and staff to deliver effective, timely and financially sound project solutions.
You have a focus on developing and maintaining strong relationships with our existing Clients, as well as internal and external stakeholders in order to develop new business.
You will coach and mentor less experienced staff.

Key requirements for this position include:
• A first degree in a relevant subject, in hydrology, water resources or environmental sciences (Second degree preferable).
• Demonstrable knowledge required of FEH methodologies, river and floodplain modelling, flood mapping, flood risk assessment and planning procedure.
• Sound knowledge of appropriate legislative and regulatory requirements for flood risk assessments, water quality and planning procedure.
• Experience within a consultancy environment in a senior level position, with excellent project management abilities.
• Full Driving licence.
