ADAS is seeking a Senior Ecologist and/or a Principal Ecologist to join our Wolverhampton office. The role is permanent and based on a project site.

The role will be mainly focused on supporting large infrastructure projects and to lead a team of Ecological Clerks of Work (ECoW) with support from our team of ecologists. Our ecology business comprises a highly skilled team focused on providing services to a wide range of clients, particularly developers, utility companies and the renewable energy and rural industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working directly with client teams comprising individuals from a variety of disciplines
  • Manage a team of ECoWs to deliver ecological support across large construction sites
  • Lead on construction site supervision duties in relation to licences and general ecology
  • Project team coordination and management
  • Client management and providing solid technical advice
  • Sub-contractor management and liaison

Person Specification

  • Graduate level education in a relevant subject
  • Great Crested Newt/bat survey licence holder (other species licences desirable)
  • Associate Level CIEEM membership or above, accredited for Ecological Clerk of Works desirable
  • An in-depth knowledge of ecology, legislation, and survey techniques
  • Named ecologist on mitigation licences – preferably Great Crested Newts and/or bats
  • CSCS card

Salary and Benefits

  • £30,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
