At URS we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Planner to assist in the technical and commercial growth of the environmental planning and environmental services business of the Brisbane Office of URS.

Your main responsibilities would be:

  • Undertake environmental planning assessments and reporting for client projects.
  • Liaise with government regulators on behalf of clients and facilitate their approval processes where possible.
  • Assist in the preparation of environmental impacts studies, planning studies and management plans.
  • Assist in consultation activities with both community members and regulators.
  • Respond with flexibility to changing client needs
  • Develop a clear understanding of the requirements for client deliverables and timing and respond accordingly
  • Prepare technically competent, timely and “to the brief” reports for environmental planning and land use planning projects
  • Manage projects so that adequate technical knowledge is used to satisfy client requirements
  • Peer review reports prepared by other staff for technical content, regulatory compliance, clarity and client requirements
  • Prepare winning proposals which assist in increasing the level of business for the office
  • Provide technical support for and generate work for other environmental planning staff in the office
  • Assist in the promotion of the firm externally through professional associations and attendance at business functions as appropriate.

 To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A degree in either Environmental Planning or Town Planning
  • Drivers licence, in accordance with Queensland law requirements 
  • Significant experience (8-10 years)
  • Sound knowledge of Queensland's planning and environmental legislation
  • High level of analytical and reporting skills
