Requested profile / Qualification
The Team Leader/ urban low-carbon development specialist (SENIOR) is required to have the following minimum qualifications:
At least 10 years experience in urban development with focus on environmental/climate
change/low carbon development issues at the international level (research experience in this
domain is also considered pertinent). Preference will be given to candidates who can prove
experience to comprehensively analyse urban challenges and scope possible solutions to target
low carbon development issues ;
Education of at least Masters Degree Academic level OR Equivalent additional professional
experience of at least three years (on top of the above mentioned 10 years) in a field relevant to
the lot;
Substantial experience with pre-feasibility or feasibility studies in the field of urban
development/environmental management/climate change;
Demonstrated knowledge/experience of current EU low carbon/energy/climate change
policies/measures and the different EU Cities initiatives;
Proficiency in English.
Additional requirements for the Team Leader:
Experience working in China would be an asset;
Familiar with EU project procedures and/or with international funding agency procedures;
Excellent communication skills;
Able to use computer based Word processing, Spreadsheet and presentation software expertly.
The urban low-carbon development specialist (JUNIOR) is required to have the following minimum
qualifications:At least 3 years experience in working in China with cities or/and relevant administrative bodies
linked to urban issues on low carbon development challenges;
Education of at least Masters Degree Academic level OR Equivalent additional professional
experience of at least five years (on top of the above mentioned 3 years) in a field relevant to the
lot;
Very strong English language skills;
Fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
Additional requirements for the junior expert:
Experience in international projects/partnerships in China would be an asset;
Able to use computer based Word processing, Spreadsheet and presentation software expertly.
