The Seasonal Stewardship Assistant participates in preserve operations, maintenance and management and assists in the restoration of habitats on preserve lands.  This may include one or more of the following functions:

  • Assists with on-site implementation of projects including: operating hand tools and chainsaws, removing exotic species, applying herbicides, and planting native species
  • Maps project sites and assists with invasive species mapping using GPS and ArcGis
  • Assists with other stewardship tasks including mowing, trail maintenance, and preserve inspections
  • Maintains stewardship program records
  • Communicates regularly with supervisor and stewardship staff regarding site information
  • Maintains preserve facilities, signs, public use and parking areas and trails
  • Maintains stewardship tools and equipment
