Description

As a Seasonal Ranger at Buckinghamshire Council, you’ll ensure our beautiful parks are maintained to a high standard for our visitors to enjoy. Our Rangers are responsible for the day-to-day running of our sites. If you enjoy working outside, where no two days are the same, this could be the role for you.  

On top of the advertised salary, there is a weekend working enhancement of 9.9% to the salary.

Fixed-term contracts until 31/10/22

The main work location is Black Park Country Park

About the role

You’ll be joining a close-knit and friendly team, who will support you to get off to a great start with us. This is a fast-paced and dynamic role where you’ll work with colleagues to: 

  • Provide exceptional service to our customers, dealing with enquiries and health and safety issues as they arise.
  • Make sure our sites are kept clean, including emptying bins and clearing litter. 
  • Work with our commercial team to support income-generating activities, including events and location filming. 
  • Support the delivery of on-site maintenance, including mowing and strimming.
  • Carry out all duties with an awareness and understanding of Health and safety requirements. 

About you

From liaising with the public to keeping our parks clean, you’ll work to promote responsible behaviour and ensure our sites remain a safe place for our visitors to enjoy. You’ll enjoy working outdoors in different conditions.

An adaptable and proactive attitude is key, with plans often changing with plans often changing last minute or on-site incidents that need your assistance. Above all, you’ll be enthusiastic and ready to further develop skills by working with our dedicated team of Rangers.

These roles are offered as Fixed-term contracts until 31/10/22

You’ll be entitled to a range of benefits from Buckinghamshire Council including a very competitive employer pension contribution and a minimum of 25 days annual leave allowance per year. 

This role requires working extended opening hours, scheduled weekends and bank holidays.  You'll also need to hold a full driving licence and pass a Buckinghamshire Council driving test.
