Description
IMPORTANT:  This Advertiser has requested that applicants MUST be National Residents / Valid Work Permit-holders.  Other applicants need not apply.

RSK Carter Ecological Ltd, a member of RSK Group plc, is a highly successful ecological consultancy that carries out surveys and assessments for a broad range of habitats and species. With the ecology season shortly to commence, RSK Carter Ecological is seeking individuals to join the team for around six months.

Working between April and September, you will support the existing team on ecology projects based all over the UK. The projects will involve assisting with animal and plant surveys to be conducted over the summer months. We are looking for applicants that ideally can work out of our Banbury head office, travelling to work on sites all over the UK.  Applicants living in other areas will also be considered.

All candidates need to be prepared for large amounts of travelling and be happy to work away from home. Due to the nature of the work, successful candidates will need to be completely flexible on working hours, as there will be a significant amount of evening, weekend and night work.

Desired experience
We would ideally be looking for candidates with a BSc in Ecology or related subject, but knowledge of ecology would override the specific need for a higher qualification.   Candidates must be able to read and write to a high standard as recording data is a key factor of the role.  Overall, enthusiasm, energy and a willingness to work outdoors whatever the weather are really the most important attributes.

Person specification

  • Enthusiasm, energy and happy to work outdoors essential
  • Confident and happy to work out on sites alone
  • Physically fit
  • Previous experience beneficial
  • Protected species licences preferable
  • Driving licence required
  • Happy to work evenings, nights and weekends
  • Must be able to commit to the full six months

Salary - £15 pro rata

All candidates applying for positions with RSK Group must be eligible to work in the UK/European Economic Area. Candidates should confirm this when applying with their CV and covering letter to Sarah Murphy, recruitment manager, at smurphy@rsk.co.uk.
