Bush Heritage is a national non-profit organisation conserving biodiversity in Australia. We do this by buying and managing land of outstanding conservation value, and working in partnership with other landowners. We help protect native habitats on millions of hectares of the most ecologically important landscapes.

The Scottsdale Reserve Manager will ensure that day to day management of Scottsdale Reserve meets the goals of Bush Heritage Australia.  The Reserve Manager will apply the principles of adaptive management, natural resource management and applied conservation ecology to ensure the successful delivery of land management outcomes for Scottsdale Reserve and is responsible for the development and management of the reserve budget.

The Reserve Manager will engage with others in the delivery of science and land management conservation activities at Scottsdale in collaboration with the Healthy Landscape Manager, Visitation Coordinator and the National Volunteer Program Coordinator. The Reserve Manager will represent and promote Bush Heritage in the region, in relation to activities on Scottsdale Reserve.

It is envisaged that the position will be based at Scottsdale and may require travel to South East NSW and other locations on an as needed basis.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate a commitment and passion for nature conservation and the objectives and values of Bush Heritage.  You will be able to demonstrate experience in implementing a Health, Safety and Environment Management System.  You will hold a tertiary qualification or have extensive relevant experience in conservation science and/or land management.  You have a proven ability to manage staff, volunteers and contractors and are experienced in working with a range of stakeholders.  The successful applicant will have a high level of computer literacy along with experience in managing budgets, projects and contract management.  You will be skilled in maintaining and operating rural infrastructure, plant and equipment and hold a full driver’s licence with demonstrated competency with 4WD operation and recovery.  A workplace Level 2 First Aid Certificate is essential.
