Rothamsted Research is the world’s longest-established agricultural research centre, internationally known for its advanced research in plant and soil science, bioenergy, climate change, agroecology and sustainability. Rothamsted Research operates on three sites in the UK: in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, Bury St Edmonds, Suffolk and North Wyke, Devon.
We are seeking applications from outstanding scientists working in soil science or agroecology or in any of our strategic areas (see www.rothamsted.ac.uk). These positions will be located at our Harpenden, Herts research centre, just 25 miles from central London. We seek individuals with an excellent track-record of productivity in their subject as measured by quality and impact of publications, success in competing for grants and other research support and peer esteem. The successful candidates will be required to build a strong research program that attracts high-calibre younger scientists and competitive funding.
These positions will be filled at Senior Scientist level (Band F) which attracts a starting salary in the range of £42,693 to £50,563 or in exceptional circumstances at Band G (salary range £55,299 to £64,845). These positions will be tenured or designated tenure-track for scientists demonstrating excellent potential. Candidates should have a Ph.D. and a minimum of 5 years post-doctoral experience.
