Scientific Officer - £25,000-£27,000 depending on experience

Compassion in World Farming is the world’s leading charity championing farm animal welfare, with a highly successful record of campaigning in the UK, the EU and internationally. The organisation has recently taken steps to strengthen the role of science and knowledge in shaping the delivery of its campaigns.

We are looking to appoint two talented, creative and change oriented scientific staff to the Campaigns Department. The Senior Scientific Manager will report to the Director of Campaigns and will be an experienced animal welfare scientist, leading our Research and Education Team. The Scientific Officer will report to the Senior Scientific Manager and have a background in sustainable development and agriculture. Above all we are looking for people who are enthusiastic about using their knowledge and understanding of science to effect global change in the livestock sector.

You will join a highly professional and dedicated department which values joined-up working across its campaigning, lobbying, media and instigative work. As well as helping to shape and deliver compelling campaigns, you will sit within the Research and Education team, whose task it is to facilitate Compassion’s organisational learning.
