He angitutanga | About the role

As the Science Technician, Kakapo/Takahe, you will support the team and its Science and Technical Advisors to deliver the research objectives for the species.  This is your opportunity to be part of a programme collaborating with local and international experts in the fields such as genetics, artificial insemination, and nutrition.

The responsibilities include:

  • Collecting, managing, analysing, and presenting scientific data using statistical and visualisation software
  • Recording and organising field samples
  • Helping design and conduct field trials
  • Assisting with the planning and writing of scientific papers
  • Supporting external researchers
