Science Coordinator

Shoals Rodrigues is marine conservation NGO based on the island of Rodrigues in the Republic of Mauritius. Shoals Rodrigues has supported conservation of the islands’ marine environment for over 10 years, through research, training and education.

We are currently looking to recruit a new Science Coordinator to be responsible for managing our existing monitoring and research programmes, developing new initiatives and supporting other activities. Applicants will have proven ability to undertake marine field work, write reports, communicate results and prepare funding proposals.

The successful candidates will have a good BSc / MSc / PhD in marine biology or environmental discipline, at least one years in fisheries assessments and/or marine biodiversity or conservation research experience (evidence of publications would be beneficial). Candidates would ideally be fluent in written and spoken English (French would be an advantage), and with diving experience.
