Description

Are you ready to make a positive impact on global sustainability in MSC’s international fishery certification and eco-labelling programme? Seize this opportunity to join the MSC’s Science and Standards (S&S) Department.

The S&S Liaison Support Officer will play a pivotal role in providing support for the S&S team and its interactions with the MSC’s various stakeholders, helping to ensure overall programme effectiveness and credibility.  Part of this need is currently covered by the S&S Team Administrator position; this new post will provide further support for key activities.  Internally, it will require communication across the MSC at all levels – within the S&S Team, across other departments and regions, with the Executive Committee and with the MSC’s governance bodies.  Externally the post holder will develop relationships with people at all levels, from very different interests and backgrounds including NGOs, commercial sector, science / academia, fishing industry and governments.

This position will provide crucial practical support to a range of technical projects including the certification and ratings collaboration, assurance model review, Peer Review College and online training platform, as well as supporting the meetings of two key MSC stakeholder groups – the Stakeholder Council and the Integrity Oversight Working Group. In addition, the S&S Liaison Support Officer will provide practical support to the Heads of S&S teams.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree or equivalent level in administration, environmental sciences, or other discipline relevant to the role, and have excellent organisational skills and a preference for paying close attention to detail.  Other preferred skills are outlined in the Job Description.
