California's Proposition 39 provides approximately $450M per year for the next five years for school districts and local education agencies (LEA) in California to implement projects that improve energy efficiency and expand clean energy generation. Ecology Action seeks an experienced consulting professional to build relationships, present proposals, close deals and lead clients through planning, design and implementation of projects made possible by P39.


The School Clean Energy Advisor responsibilities include establishing and maintaining relationships with LEA clients, identifying client needs and priorities, developing proposals and securing commitment to engage, collaborating with clients to design expenditure plans around existing outside funding sources. The position will report to the Senior Program Manager Prop 39 and be supported by Ecology Action's marketing, IT, HR, engineering and executive teams. Prop 39 is a statewide project and it is anticipated that the majority, but not all, of Ecology Action clients will be in the greater SF Bay area.


Duties:

  • Development and execution of detailed and effective Expenditures Plans
  • Maintain effective business relationships and communicate full scope of Ecology Action solutions and services to meet customer energy savings requirements
  • Monitor customer plan progress, outside funding landscape, customer needs, and provide progress and execution updates.
  • Coordinate internal technical contributions from engineering and technical teams to ensure achievement of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

The School Clean Energy Advisor must have demonstrated success and skill in the following:

  • Outstanding organizational, project, time management, and resource planning skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, computer and interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Prior experience within energy or engineering environment preferred
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast passed work setting.
  • Strong ability to use standard MS Office products and particularly MS Excel;
  • Experience with the design and delivery of fee-for-service consulting services;
  • Strong understanding of clean energy opportunity assessment, planning and delivery strategies;
  • Familiarity with the processes of energy efficiency auditing, engineering and delivery

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors degree.
  • At least 5 years of experience in technical consulting practice, preferably Energy Efficiency.

Work Environment: Generally, the work environment is an office setting. Occasionally, the work may be performed in a warehouse or factory setting, which may expose an individual to fumes, airborne particles, loud noise levels, and unpleasant odors.
