The Philanthropy Analyst reports to the Director of Philanthropy Operations and is responsible for end user support and training on all Philanthropy information systems, including the Pledgemaker relational donor database, the ClearView interface to the database, and the Crystal Report Server, managing the end user support helpdesk, assisting with the upgrade and management of the Pledgemaker database, and coordinating service needs and field-based applications to improve philanthropy outcomes.

  • Responsible for Pledgemaker/ClearView new user training, continuing education and the preparation of donor database training documentation, with particular focus on fundraisers and donor database power users.
  • Responsible for management of Philanthropy Services helpdesk, responding to requests, and ensuring that all end user support requests are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the upgrade, management and enhancement of the Pledgemaker/ClearView database, in collaboration with BIS (Business Information systems) to ensure best practices in database management.
  • Coordinate with end users regarding data, technology, and reporting needs to support their philanthropy efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • 30% Manage Philanthropy Services helpdesk. Assign issues and ensure that requests are addressed in a timely manner, including identifying and helping develop new solutions for end users.
  •  20% Assist with training of all classes of Pledgemaker users, including fundraisers and Pledgemaker power users.. Training will include on-site classroom sessions, and remote webinar sessions.
  • 10% Develop custom ad hoc reporting tools for end users in response to helpdesk requests. This will involve the user of Crystal Reports and SQLPlus.
  • 15% Assist with the creation of training documentation for new ClearView interface for Pledgemaker. This will include written documentation, power points presentations, recorded webinar sessions.
  • 15% Assist with the upgrade, management and enhancement of the Pledgemaker fundraising database.
  • 5% Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-4 years experience working with relational database systems, in a PC environment, such as experience with any combination of the following: Oracle, SQL Plus, Crystal Reports, Business Objects.
  • Experience in a fundraising environment, such as supporting a major fundraising campaign, preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a position requiring training end users on how to use technology more effectively. Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory and Curriculum Design preferred. Experience with training documentation (e.g. manual writing) preferred.
  • A proven 'customer service' orientation, in an environment where project needs are not always clearly defined.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to help end users define their needs.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to accomplish multiple tasks with attention to detail; prompt; dependable, accurate.
  • Track record of being a strong team member who can define needs, design solutions, and bring about required results in a timely manner.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills. Stand up training experience preferred.
  •  AA or AS degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
