My client is one of the leading photovoltaic (PV) installer and over a number of years have built up a strong track record in this field providing solar electric and solar thermal energy systems of varying complexity for their  commercial, non-profit and residential customers. They are now looking to recruit a sales manager to join their team in the East Coast.

 

Responsibilities:-

 

  • Establish both market and target customer strategies for the market
  • Manage sales and marketing resources to achieve agreed upon budgets
  • Provide leadership to the day-to-day operations of the regional sales department while maintaining focus on the company’s strategic goals
  • Monitor actual sales results versus budgetary forecasts monthly. Manage relevant reporting of management and financial information for the sales and marketing departments
  • Define price strategy for current and new products and help meet the corporate target gross margins
  • Recruit, manage, train and motivate direct reporting staff according to company procedures, policy and employment law.  Offer them the coaching, counseling, advice, support, motivation or information they need in order to help them meet their sales objectives
  • Handle complaints from customers or others stemming from actions in the Sales & Marketing Department

 

 

Requirements:-

 

  • At least 5-10 years of sales experience in the solar photovoltaic (PV) integrator industry (high-end construction industry, beneficial).
  • Good knowledge of the solar photovoltaic (PV)  market and industry trends
  • Have a strong understanding of solar photovoltaic (PV)  financing
  • Have experience in developing and executing tactical sales plans
  • Be highly computer literate and use sales database tracking programs
  • Strong negotiating skills and capacity
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Minimum B.S. or B.A. in a Business or Engineering discipline M.B.A. preferred, other postgraduate work desirable
