The Sales Manager reports to the Director, Local Sales and is responsible for securing advertising commitments from local and regional merchants in the Southwest. The Sales Manager responsibilities include building their region by identifying and calling on the best local and regional businesses that make each city unique, then negotiating exclusive rewards and offers for Recyclebank members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop comprehensive sales strategy, including tactics, targets, packaging, and pricing to maximize revenue within their territory
  • Prospect, consult with, and close local merchants on exclusive offers for Recyclebank members based on each business’s products & services
  • Identify new and creative businesses & activities to partner with to expand the range of offers for our members
  • Share best practices across your region and with home office to improve sales process and training
  • Sell strategic accounts in the region to ensure maximum revenue
  • Communicate ongoing contract and sales activities within the sales teams
  • Communicate ongoing contact and sales activities utilizing Salesforce.com

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate must have a track record of success in sales. Experience in local merchant advertising along with the connections to build partnerships for Recyclebank is preferred. The ideal candidate is passionate about our business, and has the ability to thrive in a fast-growing small business environment. A strong belief in the environmental mission of Recyclebank is essential.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Personal sales record shows a consistent ability to develop and maintain lucrative long-term relationships
  • A good understanding of social networking, local search and online advertising with a specific focus on promotional marketing
  • In-depth familiarity with CPC, CPA, Affiliate, and CPM models
  • Outgoing and personable with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a constantly changing environment
  • Entrepreneurially inclined with a desire to work in a start-up environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5-10 years of experience in outside sales
