Description

This role will be based out of Singapore, alongside other team members in Opower’s growing APAC office. Fluency in English a must, and strong preference will be given to candidates with proficiency/fluency in another language spoken in your sales territory.
You will have responsibility for accelerating growth in the APAC market for Opower, delivering against sales and business development goals in the 2013 - 2015 operating plan, and will be well-compensated for exceeding these goals. You will report to Opower’s Managing Director, Asia Pacific, who is currently based in San Francisco, CA.
You will have to opportunity to define the sales strategy for rapid expansion of Opower’s existing business in region, partner with leading utilities as well as key stakeholders to structure deals, rally Opower behind these initiatives, and deliver on multi-million dollar deals.

Responsibilities

  • You will engage prospective international clients to influence their organization, their long-term vision and their needs around energy efficiency, Smart Grid/Smart Meters, and customer engagement and satisfaction.
  • Partnering with our Regulatory Affairs team, you will understand and influence the country-specific regulatory environments and ensure these environments are favorable to selling solutions that improve energy efficiency, Smart Meter acceptance, and/or utility customer satisfaction.
  • You will have an annual quota for delivering against the APAC operating plan, and develop and deliver deals to deliver Opower’s market-leading solutions to utilities and their customers
  • You will work closely with Managing Director APAC, SVP of Client Solutions, VP of Regulatory Affairs and APAC Regulatory Affairs Director. You will also partner with Opower’s Marketing, Product, Legal, and Operations teams to close business and ensure our internal teams are poised to deliver on that business.

About You

This is an ideal job for a true international sales and business development professional with at least 5-10 years of experience personally priming new markets, selling and closing enterprise-transactions, and successfully leveraging corporate capabilities from across the globe.
