My client is one of the leading global wind turbine manufacturers with a large market presence throughout Europe, Asia and the US. They are aggressively expanding their sales team and are now looking for a Sales Director to oversee their turbine sales across the region. This is an exceptional opportunity for either a Sales Director looking for an exciting new challenge or an experienced Sales Manager looking to make the next step with a leading OEM.
Position Overview: Reporting to the VP of Sales, this is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a global leader within the industry, selling their state of the art wind turbines across the US. The ideal candidate will already have a track record of selling commercial scale wind turbines throughout the US, and will have an existing list of contacts and clients.
Responsibilities:-
- · Develop and implement strategic sales plans, forecasts and performance goals to achieve corporate objectives for wind turbine sales
- · Manage performance of sales management and representative organizations
- · Take part in monthly sales forecasts and sales strategies for all of their designated region
- · Review and analyze sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness
- · Establishing a long-term business platform in the US
- · Coordinate with the VP of Sales to manage the entire sales operation in both your region and the rest of the US
- · Lead the negotiations of terms and conditions with developers
- · Help direct their turbine sales operation in the US and work closely with the international team to best expand my clients growth
- · Ensure all deals meet revenue and margin expectations for the wind energy company and that your team is performing within the framework of the company
Education:-
Must have a good educational background in either business or civil or mechanical or electrical engineering
Core Requirements:-
- At least 3-5 years of wind turbine sales experience in the USA
- You must have a track record of selling commercial scale wind turbines
- · You must have a proven ability and temperament to work on long term contracts
- · An excellent understanding of regulatory requirements in the wind industry in the US
- · Ability to work under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results
- · Proven ability to communicate across all levels of an organization and work closely with Director level managers in a large international company
General Requirements:-
- · Proficient with making impactful presentations and managing a team of high level employees
- Ability to work independently but within tightly controlled business policies
Key Skills:-
Onshore wind, sales of wind turbines, negotiations experience, business development, exceptional team leadership skills, experience with complex contact negotiations, complex stakeholder and customer management experience
