Due to an increasing workload we are in need of a Safety, Assurance and Environment Lead to provide advice onto a specific bid that is being worked on. The successful candidate will be providing safety, assurance and environmental expertise to the bid team, writing the safety element of the bid. Develop and maintain elements of the safety management system including the railway safety case and all relevant railway safety, occupational health and safety, and operations safety managers. Together with this you would be coordinating a programme of suitable and sufficient assessments of risks to railway health and safety ensure compliance with railway legislation and identify KPI’s on safety performance. I would suggest that the most important factor is to have good knowledge of safety case work within the rail sector and show experience of bid writing, and/or helping with writing bids. This is a 6 month contract but could be extended. Serco are a massive company with around 60,000 people worldwide and opportunities arise regularly. The contract rate is negotiable (within reason), depending on the skills and experience of the candidate.
