The Primary responsibility of a Residential Solar Consultant is to generate and forecast expected revenue in an assigned territory. This successful consultant is an expert in their territory in terms of Utility Rates, competition and approaches that work in their assigned market.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
·         Work with Inside Sales team to respond to leads, and contact prospective customers to evaluate a customer’s Solar needs;
·         Explain REC Solar’s product offering, schedule and manage customer appointments;
·         Quickly determine a prospective customer’s knowledge of Solar, and guide a conversation towards evaluating a customer’s requirements, determining if a customer is a good prospect for Solar, setting a meeting, and preparing and presenting a solar proposal that meets their needs;
·         Probe for needs, analyze electrical bills and usage and propose systems that meet the objectives of the customer;
·         Understand and discuss the relative advantages of various forms of financing and be able to structure financial proposals to meet a customer’s needs by using cash proposals, low up-front lease proposals, home equity loans, or Power Purchase Agreements;
·         Share the responsibility of lead generation by working with Events team to plan and attend various networking events;
·         Understand REC’s internal tools and processes and use these tools to plan, prepare, create and deliver proposals to potential customers;
·         Track and monitor performance against quota, responsible to meet or exceed minimum performance standards as established by Sales Management.
 
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
·         Bachelor’s Degree plus minimum of 2 years of Outside sales experience required, additional experience in Inside Sales is ideal;
·         Must have outstanding interpersonal skills including superb verbal communication and listening skills;
·         Must demonstrate professionalism at all times, including tact and diplomacy in dealing with others;
·         Must be success-oriented, as demonstrated by referrals and previous work experience of exceeding performance targets and customer expectations;
·         Ability to conduct accurate needs-analyses;
·         Strong Mathematical skills, and understanding of personal finance;
·         Ability to think critically and solve problems;
·         Knowledge of solar industry, solar products and financing a plus;
·         Proficiency with computer programs such as Outlook, Excel, Salesforce.com, MS Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat;
·         Ability to use standard office equipment such as personal computer, printer, cell phone, copy machine, telephone, calculator, fax machine, etc.;
·         Ability to accept coaching and work collaboratively with team.
This is a full-time position which includes a draw against commission, generous commission schedule, and full benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision insurances, 401(k), and paid vacation/sick/holiday time.
