Description
The Residential Project Manager will report to the Regional Operations Manager and is responsible for leading the implementation of the project cycle for Residential PV projects.  This position will work closely with regional warehouse manager to understand office’s material needs and demands, and that supplies are ordered and available to meet and not exceed requirements. The Project Manager will also act as the single point of contact for specific projects designated as “high complexity”, coordinating all activities and communication related to these jobs including customer, subcontractors and internal inventory and scheduling departments
Responsibilities
       Provide leadership to installation teams through team building, coordination of projects, materials, warehouse management, and coordination with other Regional staff and functions.
        
       Provide project management for specific, high complexity projects by interfacing with the customer to schedule work and coordinate services; defining the schedule and budget to meet contract requirements; oversight of the design process through plan-check and permitting when necessary; defining elements of work and soliciting bids for subcontracted work as required; providing direction and coordination of all field activities related to the physical construction of the PV array by Solar City Installation teams and any coordinated subcontracts; managing the project schedule throughout the project lifecycle; and securing any unique materials and/or equipment required to complete the project.
        
       Properly organize warehouse to ensure all material is ready identifiable, accessible, and countable.  Managing inventory levels to ensure crews have material to meet their installation needs, maintaining cycle count accuracy (scrap/adjustments/variance/loss reduction). Maintaining auditable records including but not limited to packing slips, pick lists, Great Plains Journal Entries, job close-out paperwork, etc., ensuring documents are easily retrievable on demand.  Overseeing materials transfers to other sites and resolving vendor issues. He or she reports to, carries out the direction of the Regional Site Operation Manager relative to their assigned Project(s) in the Region.
Requirements
  • Construction knowledge managing schedules
  • Solar PV knowledge construction contracts
  • Managing budgets bid process
  • Directing crews/project teams 
  • Comfortable working with vendors and receiving shipments
  • Able to manage vehicles and inventory requirements 
  • Relevant warehouse and project management experiences. 
  • Have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Previous supervision or management experience preferred, ability to successfully lead teams required.
  • Solar PV installation experience a plus
  • Inventory planning systems experience a plus.
  • A bachelors degree or APICS certification a strong plus.
  • Must be highly organized and process-oriented.
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills related to people and inventory
