Job description

Role description 
This role involves a considerable amount of practical management, working with various machinery and outside in all weathers and on difficult terrain 

• Under the supervision of the Reserve Manager, undertake practical land management on the two NNR, working towards achieving favourable conditions. 
• Assist with other projects as required in agreement with the Reserve Manager 
• Maintain a safe and legal working environment, including the maintenance of site machinery and equipment 
• Ability to use Word, Excel, email and an aptitude for other applications 
• Maintenance of reserve infrastructure to include, board walks, bridges, fences, trackways and visitor management/interpretation signs. 
• Collection and recording of scientific data using data loggers and recording forms 

Licenses

A Driving Licence is essential for the role

Qualifications

Essential (evidence required) 

• Outdoor First Aid or First Aid at Work 
• Tractor Driving and use of attachments 
• Chainsaw CS 30, 31 
• Ability to drive Land Rover and ATVs off road, including the use of trailers 
• Pesticide PA1a, PA6AW

Further information

The post will involve some work at weekends including bank/privilege holidays and some unsocial hours, but TOIL will be available. Working on other Natural England sites may be required from time to time
