The European Forest Institute is an international organisation established by European States. By the end of 2007, a total of seventeen European States had ratified the Convention on EFI, namely Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Latvia, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and United Kingdom.
