Environmental and Climate Change Jobs woth SMHI. SMHI is a government agency under the Environment and Energy Department with the mission to be an expert authority on meteorology, hydrology, oceanography and climatology.
The air quality research unit of SMHI is responsible for research, method and model development within air quality, atmospheric chemistry, emissions, transport, physical and chemical transformation as well as deposition of air pollutants. Methods and models are applied to environmental problems in Sweden and internationally.
We are looking for an atmospheric scientist with specialty in aerosols and their influence on the atmosphere’s radiative properties, to work principally with climate studies. The research area requires expertise in both cloud microphysics and aerosol-chemistry. Your task will be to develop numerical schemes to describe key aerosol-cloud interactions both in regional and global climate models. The work will be carried out in collaboration with Swedish universities and European groups working within the ECEarth climate modelling consortium.
