Volunteer position: Mauritius Fody Recovery Programme, a small, Critically Endangered Passerine. Forming part of the Internationally acclaimed Mauritian Wildlife Foundation team, this role will not only add significantly to the conservation recovery programme of this species, but is an opportunity for the candidate to gain valuable experience and practical-based skills. There will also be an opportunity to take part in an Island Species-Led Action Course, established by Durrell Zoo. Candidates must have a relevant Ecology/Zoology/Biology based undergraduate degree and field-based experience, bird experience is not essential but would be useful. Other practical based skills are an advantage. Only enthusiastic and serious candidates please. Accommodation, transport and Visas are covered. Volunteers must be financially able to cover their own flights, insurance, and living costs (aprox £150-250/month). Candidate must be able to commit to a minimum of six months.
