The Baltic Nest Institute (BNI) at the Stockholm Resilience Centre announces a two-year scientist position (with a possibility to be prolonged) within the frame of FORMAS project “Regime Shifts in the Baltic Sea Ecosystem" and within the newly founded SU Centre “Baltic Sea Adaptive Management" (BEAM). The position is aimed to develop model tools within the Nest system with special emphasis on the fish/foodweb model. The main focus of the BNI is development and maintenance of Nest decision support system and there are research teams on marine, drainage basin and food web modeling and a team working with database and software development. BNI was a key player in the formulation of the Baltic Sea Action Plan and its mandate is to support international negotiations onBaltic Sea restoration. BNI scientists are also involved in various EU research projects and do basic research. The position requires a person with a Ph.D., with previous modeling experience and good project management /organization skills. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and maintenance of our fish/food web models for the Baltic Sea . Past experience in food web and fish modeling is necessary, while knowledge of Ecopath/Ecosim software is desirable.
