The role will involve research with an emphasis on the interaction between weather processes and both wind and solar generators, and the consequent impact on the electricity distribution system.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the development of new and innovative techniques, and the development of relevant applications leading to improved outcomes for the renewable energy industry.

Specifically you will:

  • Assist in the preparation of research proposals and related contract negotiations.
  • Apply scientific expertise to one or more elements of a large research project
  • Communicate research activities to colleagues, clients and the broader scientific community through presentations, client reports, and scientific papers

Salary: $86K - 93K Plus up to 15.4% superannuation

 To be successful you will have:

  • PhD in a discipline relevant to mathematical modelling of atmospheric processes, such as Meteorology or Fluid Mechanics.
  • A minimum of three years of post-PhD professional research experience in research related to forecasting or simulation of renewable energy sources.
  • Demonstrated ability for effective oral and written communication of research aims and outcomes to a variety of audiences, including collaborators, clients and the wider scientific community.
