Research Officer
The Pan-European Common Bird Monitoring Scheme (PECBMS) is a join initiative of the European Bird Census Council (EBCC) and BirdLife International. Using data from national breeding bird monitoring schemes, it produces supra-national species' population trends and indices and common bird indicators. The PECBMS and its partners also investigate bird population changes in Europe with the aim of understanding what drives them.
The job holder will be responsible for analyses of PECBMS data sets, interpreting the results and producing scientific publications based on these. The work will also include communication and collaboration with external researchers interested in cooperating with the PECBMS network, along with establishing and pursuing research priorities in the context of European bird monitoring and conservation. This post is initially offered on a full-time basis for one year, extension to beyond one year is possible (but funding dependent). Closing date: June 16, 2014 See full job description.
