Description

Inland Fisheries Ireland is the state agency responsible for the protection, management and conservation of Ireland's inland fisheries and sea angling resources.

The Research Officer will be a member of IFI’s Lakes and Rivers team. He/she will be responsible for leading a scientific research programme on brown trout (or other species if necessary).

Main duties for this role will include:

  • Day to day delivery of the project under the supervision of the senior research officer.
  • Working with the Senior Research Officer to develop a comprehensive and innovative research programme for brown trout in Ireland.
  • Have a vision for the future of brown trout research in Ireland

This position requires a candidate will have demonstrated an excellence in planning and execution of applied scientific studies in field situations. The successful candidate will have academic and practical experience of fisheries science and will also have experience conducting common fisheries related analyses

Tenure: Temporary Specified Purpose.

Salary: RO Scale (01.01.2019)
